About

ABOUT our organization

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF, or in English: Doctors Without Borders) is an international nonprofit organization best known for providing emergency medical services in war-torn countries as well as countries affected by endemic diseases and natural disaster. MSF operates in over 65 countries and consists of teams of over 42,000 doctors, nurses, and logisticians. These teams see over a million patients a year and may provide both emergency medical relief and day-to-day healthcare such as surgery and management of chronic conditions.

We are an official undergraduate chapter within the international Doctors Without Borders organization. The Ohio State undergraduate chapter has three main goals:

-spread awareness about the issues faced by war-torn and developing countries, and about the work done by Doctors Without Borders worldwide

-support Doctors Without Borders, and the healthcare professionals that contribute to the organization, by hosting fundraising events

-volunteer locally (and soon: abroad!)
